Floyd Mayweather Jr. says jail sentence won’t affect him

Pound for pound boxing king Floyd Mayweather Jr. does not believe his recent jail sentence will have any kind of adverse effect on his upcoming fight and title defense against Robert ‘The Ghost’ Guerrero. The 36 year old Welterweight champion is training hard after spending two months in jail at the end of last summer for domestic battery.

And according to The Money, that spell behind bars has had no affect on his preparations for the May 4 World Boxing Council or the WBC Welterweight Championship defense against Guerrero. And having not suffered a single defeat in his 43 fight career, the American firmly believes that the onus will be all one on Guerrero to find a recipe for success against him, where no previous fighter before him has succeeded.

According to Floyd Mayweather Jr. no one has the blueprint of what it takes to overcome him. He stated that all 43 of his previous opponents came into their matches against him with a game plan, and all 43 of them came up short in the end.  He further mentioned that no one has found the code that will break him. He admitted that he doesn’t think the layoff he has had will hurt him inside the ring, asserting that he has faced fighters of almost all styles and as a result, adjusting comes quite easily for him.

The American did confirm that he has changed trainers and has gone back to train under his father after complaining about suffering too much in his previous fight against Miguel Cotto, when he was trained by his uncle Roger. Floyd Mayweather Jr. also mentioned that he has to be smart and listen to his corner, something he didn’t do during the fight against Cotto and was severely bruised during the encounter as a result.

Floyd Mayweather Jr. reunites with father

Unbeaten American boxer and undoubtedly the Pound for Pound boxing king Floyd Mayweather Jr. is mending his relationship with his father after admitting that he will keep it all in the family ahead of his return to the boxing ring on the 4^th of May where Mayweather Sr. will don the cap of his son’s trainer as he looks go get back in shape after being sidelined from the ring for all the wrong reasons over the last few months.

Floyd spent almost three months in jail last year after being convicted of domestic battery after he pleaded guilty of the charges, but was given an early parole by the court after his lawyers had filed an appeal citing his time in jail was hampering his health and could have a long standing impact on his boxing career. Floyd Mayweather Jr. may be yet to have any opponent confirmed against whom he will fight for his comeback match, although the names of Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez have come up as potential candidates, but he has made it clear that he will train under his father for the match.

Money took to the popular social networking website Twitter where he posted a picture of himself with his father and he added a caption that he and his trainer, with ‘dad’ written within brackets, are getting ready for his return to the ring on the 4^th of May.
